Default How to Repair a motherboard of TOSHIBA Satellite A70

From the year beginning, My Toshiba Satellite laptop freeze often or even doesn't boot when I used a DVD-ROM on the system. After reinstalled Windows XP, have not improved! Recently my system is often baffling lost the system files, two-systems (win98, winXP) all break down! Use the tool of the software to scanning the hard drives, to find out the link mistakes of a lot. Reformatting the hard drive resulting in a large area of bad sectors! Now, I put a new hard drive in my laptop and install a Windows XP, but unbelievable! I found bad sector again on a new hard drive when I just re-formatted it !

Think of the DVD failure before, suspected motherboard has problems is doubtful DVD and IDE interface. Removed the cover of the laptop and get a motherboard of the TOSHIBA Satellite A70, careful observation, found capacitances of all 6.3 V470 μ F has a problems on the motherboard (a total of three, between USB socket and power supply have two 220 μ F, capacitances) The problems has a blister with some liquid on the heads of the capacitance. Is capacitor failure?

Ready tools such as iron and do a good job under static protection (to prevent breakdown of the other components on the motherboard), exercise caution. Removed the bad capacitance with slightly larger size of the capacitor replacement, results is satisfactory, The DVD is working fine and hard drive’s bad sector has gone…

5V of capacitor failure of the gradually, it has lost function of the filtering , all kinds of interference sources, and data transmission signals to interference, an error. Demonstrated that: DVD was bad and new hard drive has a link wrong! After replace some capacitors, all the failure to have disappeared.
