HD Teach: test hardware indexes such as hard drive speed, access time
HD Teach（http://www.simplisoftware.com/）is a test software specifically used to test hardware indexes such as hard drive access speed, access time and so on. And what the difference from HD Tune is that the test functions of this software are more flexible, besides, there’s built-in huge disk database of all kinds, and you can compare your result with it to know more about the differences from other hard disks. Therefore, it is really popular, and you can search and download it with all language editions.
The usage of it is quite simple. Install and execute it, select the disk you wanna test from the drop-down menu on the main interface (it could be the disk which has already been installed on the system, also it could be portable hard disk or MO random-access erasable CD devices), and below the drop-down menu you have to decide if you need quick test or full test. Full test is that the software will test the performance of the hard drive with more date accessing. After your selection, press “Start testing”, then the software will take turns to inspect the hard drive access speed, CPU occupancy rate, random-access speed etc. At last when it finishes the test, the result will be displayed in chart.
When you check the test result, if you hope to compare the result to other hard disk’s, you only need to click the inferior “Compare other drives”, then select one you want to compare with from the information list which provides all brands of hard disk. Confirm it and return, the software will display it on the chart with different color curves, which can directly help you to know the difference between your hard disk and the one used for comparison.
