Nice informative post. Although it is descriptive and therefore doesn't look as complicated but still while dealing with laptop parts it is always better to let the professional do the job because laptop repair is a highly technical work and it is certainly not worth taking a risk with this costly machine.

The manual of EVERY product is going to tell you to fully charge a battery prior to first use. Such batteries are generally not produced with a 'full charge' and you want to be sure the charge is full for calibration of the battery software (i.e. indicator software).

Great thread! I actually am having issues with the power jack on my laptop. However, I do not have any experience in soldering. This is unfortunate, because I would love to open it up and fix the problem myself. Instead rather, I think that I will have no choice but to take it in to get repaired. What would be a good approach to finding a good repair shop? 613-742-7233 Thank you.
